Hello Fatal Flaw Nation,
Whether you’re new here or we’re well acquainted, it has been more than a minute since I have communicated about business. A lot has happened…
I was embedded in a pharma startup known as Biohaven Pharmaceuticals. They brought me on to help build and scale the organization with the intention to drive towards a successful IPO. Ultimately, success led us to getting acquired by Pfizer - for $13 Billion. And somewhere along the way I completed my MBA at USC.
On the other side of the journey, I found myself in familiar territory. Asking myself, “What do I want to do with my life?” I researched and looked into several organizations for full time employment and nothing really inspired me. But I kept coming back to the same place. What felt right was rebooting Fatal Flaw - 2.0.
I’ve found a spark in working with organizations that are at a crossroads. The leaders who have awareness that what got them where they are now will not get them where they ultimately want to go.
I am currently working with early stage startups to build company culture through leadership. The clients who benefit most have leaders that are incredibly technically talented, but lack the leadership skills that can often only be gained with experience.
I’ve spent years retrofitting the skills I learned in the SEAL teams to plug into the business world we’re living in. I’ve learned how to transfer those skills to leaders with the desire and commitment to succeed.
My areas of focus are a few critical skills: how to make decisions quickly & independently, maximizing a decentralized leadership structure, and enabling effective communication. When my clients master these 3 things, they can scale their organization, dominate their chosen market, or set the stage for a massive exit.
A lot of my clients come to me as intros from my network. Since you’re here, here are some words to describe people I’d love to meet: Leaders who are focused on the big picture, are driven, success-oriented and committed to organizational excellence. They have a growth mindset, and can both give and take coaching. They conduct themselves and run their businesses with integrity, empathy, and genuine care.
For me, this is personal. Beyond providing services, content, and a chronicle of my own fight against resistance (#StephenPressfield), I get to work toward my North Star of leadership excellence. And like any leadership journey: it will not be easy, mistakes will be made, there will be an element of vulnerability, and most importantly, an opportunity to learn and grow.
Looking forward,
Greg
